A LONG Love story is one of my favorites of all time. It's based on a real couple and their strong desire and commitment to equipped others with the necessary tools for a Godly and healthy marriage. It was a pleasure to plan an imitate 30th Wedding Anniversary (7/27/2015) brunch for my mentors Anthony and Katrina Long. Today they are celebrating 33 years of marriage. Through their marriage, they have taught other couples to persevere through the marriage journey by teaching them to love, respect, honor and cherish their helpmates.
My husband and I have been under the mentorship of the Longs for over 14 years and we can definitely testify that God sent us the perfect mentors. Since we have been married, every other Tuesday we attend a couples bible study hosted by the Longs. During this class we read our weekly lesson and then have a transparent group discussion. Let me tell you, we have great topics, including effective communication, getting off the "crazy cycle", being selfless and not selfish, and most importantly being accountable to God and our spouses. We have learned so much from their commitment to God and each other. They are helping grow marriages and we can't thank them enough.
We salute the Longs and all they do. Wishing them a wonderful 33rd Wedding Anniversary. Cheers to many more!!!

Rickey and Portia Edwards were married August 13, 2016. They had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at Noah's Venue in Fort Worth. That day was full of special moments. The Groom gifted the bride with a fabulous arrangement of red roses, a special note and her favorite seafood fondue. The bride gifted the groom with a secret love presentation just for his eyes ONLY. Both were so excited as they prepared to spend the rest of their lives together.
The ceremony was beautifully decorated and set forover 200. The guests were greeting by a very unique video program. After which, the bridal began to enter and it was time. Music was queued, the singer stood to the mic and sung the words " I love Me Some Him". Yes, the bride Loved her some groom as she walked down the aisle with smile on her face. The ceremony concluded and it was celebration time. The reception was even more memorable with the help of celebrity dj "DJ LC" Lamont Carlis of News 8 Daybreak. The bride, groom and guests danced the night away until it was time to say farewell. All the guests lined up with sparklers to say Bon Voyage to the bride and groom as they left to spend their honeymoon in Tahiti.
Considering they met at Dallas Fort Worth International airport it would only make since that these two love birds have been Flying HIGH every since. As we approach their 2 year wedding anniversary, it has been a joy following their travel journey via instagram. They have enjoyed places like Los Cabos, Key West, Cuba, Catalina Island and most recently a couples trip to Barbados. What better way to enjoy beautiful places than with your life partner. We can't wait to see all the other places Rickey and Portia will travel too. Until the next trip, keep it FLY in LOVE!

It’s normal to want to have a big wedding but you shouldn’t overlook one of the most stressful things, your BUDGET. Creating and adhering with your wedding budget is simple, especially when you start with a realistic amount. Here are some helpful tips:
3. Strategic Plan for required payments. While it’s a joyous time you don’t want to incur credit card debt. Have at least 30% in cash of your budget saved prior to looking for vendors. This allows you to pay for retainers and deposits at time of signing contracts, which most vendors require. While you may think you can budget your household expenses from your wedding expenses it can become easy to interchange the two. Opening a separate savings or checking account to pay for wedding expenses only is smart way to plan
4. Keep track of ALL expenses. As you purchase items and secure vendors for your wedding, make sure to save your receipts. A great tool is to have a spread sheet which notes all expenses and the date of payments.
5. Enjoy the Process. Let's be real no one enjoys spending money but remember this is one day you can never do again so enjoy it.
